Published A.A. authors and Grapevine contributors will be on hand to share their experience and offer editorial assistance. \n\n\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to write about many aspects of recovery\, including sponsorship\, service\, spirituality\, early sobriety\, family relationships\, Step work\, and the everyday joys and challenges of living sober. The workshop is designed to help members develop stories that may be suitable for submission to AA Grapevine\, the International Journal of Alcoholics Anonymous. \n\n\n\nJoin fellow members for an afternoon of fellowship\, creativity\, refreshments\, and recovery as we celebrate unity through sharing our stories. All A.A. members are welcome\, regardless of writing experience.

SUMMARY:Sobriety Group Celebrates 50 Years
DESCRIPTION:Sobriety Group celebrates its 50th Anniversary on Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\, marking half a century of carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous in our community. \n\n\n\nSobriety Group held its first meeting on August 3\, 1976\, founded by a handful of A.A. members who saw a need for a place in the Hatboro\, Warminster\, Southampton and Warrington area where meetings could be held every day. Their first home at 5 Evergreen Avenue in Warminster didn’t even have chairs\, a coffee pot or coffee when they started. Somehow\, as often happens in A.A.\, the chairs appeared\, the coffee started brewing\, people came through the doors\, and the group grew. \n\n\n\nOver the decades\, Sobriety survived numerous moves and plenty of growing pains while continuing to expand its meetings and service. Along the way\, members carried the message into detoxes and treatment facilities\, provided literature for non-English-speaking alcoholics\, offered sign-language interpretation\, kept the doors open on holidays\, and remained active in District\, Area\, Intergroup and A.A. as a whole. \n\n\n\nFifty years later\, the spirit behind that first meeting continues. Join us for an evening of food\, fun and fellowship beginning at 5:00 PM\, followed by two speakers at 6:00 PM and a 50/50 raffle\, as we celebrate the members who came before us\, those who carry the message today\, and 50 years of Sobriety Group history.

DESCRIPTION:The NAS Willow Grove Meeting celebrates its 48th Anniversary on Sunday\, October 11\, 2026\, continuing a story that dates back to 1978 and the Naval Air Station Willow Grove. \n\n\n\nAccording to the group’s early history\, several sober A.A. members recognized the need for a meeting on the base and helped get one started. The group’s recorded anniversary date is August 23\, 1978. Over the years\, NAS Willow Grove grew from those early meetings into an established A.A. group\, developing its own service structure\, participating in Intergroup and General Service\, and making the Twelve Traditions part of its group life. \n\n\n\nNearly five decades later\, the meeting continues to bring alcoholics together in fellowship and service. \n\n\n\nJoin NAS Willow Grove in celebrating 48 years of carrying the message with food\, fun and fellowship beginning at 6:30 PM\, followed by a two-speaker meeting at 7:30 PM.

DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Pennsylvania General Service Convention and Assembly (EPGSA) is Area 59’s annual gathering of General Service Representatives (GSRs)\, District Committee Members (DCMs)\, Area Officers\, Past Delegates\, and all interested members of Alcoholics Anonymous. It is the one time each year when A.A. members from across Eastern Pennsylvania come together to learn\, share experience\, conduct Area business\, and strengthen our common purpose of carrying the A.A. message. \n\n\n\nThe weekend features workshops\, discussion panels\, committee meetings\, and Area Assembly sessions that provide members with a broader understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous General Service. In even-numbered years\, delegates and Area officers are elected. In odd-numbered years\, Area committees report on their work and the Assembly discusses matters affecting the Fellowship throughout Area 59.Whether you are a first-time GSR\, an experienced trusted servant\, or simply interested in learning more about how Alcoholics Anonymous functions beyond the group level\, the EPGSA offers an opportunity to gain practical knowledge\, hear diverse perspectives\, and better understand how the group conscience is carried from local meetings to the General Service Conference. \n\n\n\nMembers often leave the Convention and Assembly with renewed enthusiasm for service\, a deeper appreciation of A.A.’s General Service structure\, and practical ideas they can bring back to their home groups. GSRs are encouraged to report on the Assembly to their groups\, while all attendees can share what they have learned with fellow members. \n\n\n\nRegistration\, hotel reservations\, volunteer opportunities\, hospitality suite contributions\, and mail-in registration information are available below.
